TESCO acquires the assets of Great Lakes Coach

Transportation Equipment Sales Corporation (TESCO), established in 1937, is one of the largest and most successful bus distributors in the nation. TESCO, a second generation, family owned company, is able to meet the transportation needs of nearly every market segment, with an inventory spanning from small paratransit vans, to full size coaches. The recent acquisition of Michigan bus distributor, Great Lakes Coach, gives the company the ability to further expand its’ presence in the Michigan market.

With the acquisition being final in May, both TESCO and Great Lakes Coach look forward to what the future holds for the company. Bud Graham, TESCO President, expressed his excitement stating, “We are looking forward to working closer with Gail, and the others at Great Lakes Coach, while capitalizing on the Michigan market, and the surrounding areas.”

Established in 1951, Great Lakes Coach is one of the area’s leading providers of specialty vehicles. The company has gone from selling and servicing city transit buses, to providing transportation solutions for clients in a variety of fields. Former President and CEO, Gail Haithwaite, is looking forward to working with TESCO, stating “This has given [Great Lakes Coach] the opportunity to better meet our customer’s needs, while focusing on our strengths as a company.”

Dan Myrice, Jr. has been appointed as the Regional Manager of TESCO operations in Schoolcraft, MI. Having been with the company since 2006, Dan is thrilled and grateful for this opportunity, and is “eager to help TESCO grow as a company, and build upon the company’s presence in the Michigan market.”

For over seventy years, TESCO has provided quality products backed by exceptional service and support. With the company’s strong core values, proven quality, and trusted name, TESCO only sees growth in its’ future.
